The Lagos State Karate Team Trials,which took place yesterday,17th January, came to an end with improvement on the athlet. The event which took place at Lagos State Sports Council,Casino,was attended by Sensei Alfred,Chairman Lagos State Karate; Hajiya Zainab Saleh-Technical Director ; Sense Jude, Sensei Gboyega and Sensei Saunaka,who also was the center referee.
The event was,though attended by few athletes, was interesting to the end as none of the athletes had someone to second them, thereby making each of them think for themselves.
It started with Male/Female Kata then later to Male/Female Kumite in which both sides really craved interest to watch.
Sensei Alfred,later took his time to comment and correct every single athlete as well as encourage them to keep working hard, reminding them that every hard work pays somehow,someday.
Don't grow big head because you have done well here,remember you only competed with your team mate and not even the current national champion or even the current world champion, said Sensei Alfred.
He concluded by telling the athlete to expand their horizon.
Sunday was termed the most aggressive,Caleb -calculative,Christain-'No nonsense attacker',Lakan -'Slow poison' and Kelvin- 'Kata thinker'
It all ended with final talk and encouragement from the Lagos State Coach, Sensei Saunaka.
