Boxing: Harold Johnson Dies at 87

Former world light-heavyweight champion Harold Johnson has died at the age of 87.
Harold Johnson died in a hospital in Philadelphia on Thursday.
The Manayunk (Philadelphia) boxer, who fought the likes of Willie Pastrano, Archie Moore, Jersey Joe Walcott and Ezzard Charles in a 25-year professional career in the golden era of boxing, he made his debut in 1946 and won 76 bouts – 32 inside the distance – and lost 11.
His last fight was on March 30 1971, when he lost in the third round to Herschel Jacobs.
He was inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame in 1992 and into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1993.
After a successful defence against Eddie Cotton he gained universal recognition as world champion by beating Doug Jones.
