X-mass versus Christmass

Hi Fellas.

How are you doing?

A friend of mine posted this on a group chat. I know you might have seen it but this is my first. So it got curious. This is what she posted-

    "One horrendous blunder most people (including you) always make is to write 'Christmas' as 'Xmas' (all in the name of shortening the word). It is inappropriately wrong to substitute 'x' for Christ in the word 'Christmas'. The symbol/letter 'x' always something wrong or unethical. Pls, desist from changing Christmas to Xmas. Also sensitize others about this."

This,really got me. I said to myself,people don't just use things for replacement,someone,somewhere in the world must have sold the idea to them and my major 'ish here is letter "X".

Letter "X";has always been one of the major symbols on earth,both for good and bad. For instance,for a child and say,the father to have an agreement,more or less a promise,the both make a letter X sign across the body,with the saying of "I cross my heart..." and this has been widely used between children. Anyways,that's just the good part. The bad part for instance is,if a "skull" is added to X,people say its danger sign but,even if  it is just danger sign,I don't think its something good. So I made my research.

Now,according to www.cresourcei.org, "A 2005 poll on the website
bible.com , a popular biblical resource site, has this question:

"What concerns you the most about how the world is
attacking Christmas, a Christian holiday?" The four choices
given in order are:
1) Using an "X" to replace Christ’s name in Christmas - i.e.
Xmas;
2) Banning manger scenes from public places;
3) Substituting "Happy Holidays" for "Merry Christmas";
4) Emphasizing Santa Clauths over Baby Jesus."

Yep,I know what you are thinking and hey don't start voting,read first. The issue of X switched from Christ is between fearful-unrevolving Christians,pardon me if I steer something but this is the truth. Christ is omitted for X by mostly "Chatters" on social media,especially the lazy ones(but we all agree the abbrevrating makes typing faster and more interesting),while Christians believe its an insult on Christ the saviour but don't you forget I can also use X-tain or Xian for Christain and
Xianity for Christianity and it still implies same. But hey! I am neutral here.

Meanwhile,the "-mass" part is from the Latin-derived Old English word for Mass, while the "X" comes from the Greek letter Chi , which is the first letter of the Greek word Χριστός which comes into English as " Christ ". So,Where is this unnecessary argument coming from?

There is a common belief that the word Xmas stems from a
secular attempt to remove the religious tradition from
Christmas by taking the "Christ" out of "Christmas", but I would rather Christians do something more creative instead of arguing or thinking in a crass manner.

So in conclusion,the abbreviation "Xmas" should be pronounced "Christmas" /ˈkrɪsməs/ just as if the word were written out in full, rather than saying "ex-mas" /ˈɛksməs/.
